Geoinformatics
Chronos (www.chronos.org) is a community facility funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and initiated in 2001 by a group of paleobiologists, stratigraphers, database developers, and information technology (IT) specialists as part of the geoinformatics initiative, a revolution that is migrating geoscience information to more readily retrievable electronic formats.
